Eleven foreign women were arrested during a one-hour raid by Malaysian police on Monday night for allegedly offering sexual services at a budget hotel in Selangor, Malaysia, which had only been operating for five days.
At 9:30 pm on February 25, officers from Selangor’s Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division raided the premise in Sunway Mentari, Petaling Jaya, where 10 women, mostly Thais but one Indonesian, aged between 22 and 33, were held, The China Press reported.
Four local men aged between 20 and 30 who were identified as customers were also detained. A preliminary investigation revealed that the syndicate advertised ‘high level’ sex services on the internet through a website page and messaging applications such as WhatsApp, and tagged their prostitutes as a ‘hot item’ or someone ‘must try.’
Viewers could also browse through the women’s biodata and details, including their face, age, nationality, body measurements and what kind of services they would offer. Each customer was charged an average fee of 230 ringgit (US$56) for one hour of services, while it was 950 ringgit (US$233) for customers who wished to spend the night with a foreign prostitute.
All the arrested women were taken to the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters for further investigations.
