A woman’s body was spotted in a river in Singapore on Sunday evening by a foreign domestic worker who called police after recovering from the shock of seeing the corpse.

At about 5 pm on March 10, a domestic worker saw the body in the Kallang River near the MRT station, the Shin Min Daily News reported. Another witness told a reporter that the woman became distraught and reported the discovery to the police after calming down.

The woman’s body was retrieved and pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. According to witnesses, the body appeared to have been in the water for some time. Aauthorities have listed it as a case of unnatural death and an investigation is ongoing.
