A Filipino student who passed away after a fraternity party in California reportedly died of accidental alcohol poisoning.

Noah Domingo, 18, a first-year biological sciences student at University of California in the city of Irvine, was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and attended a party at the fraternity on the night of January 11 this year. The event was reportedly invitation-only, GMA News reported.

The next morning, police received a call that Domingo was unresponsive at an off-campus home. He was declared dead at about 9:40am, but it was believed he died about six hours earlier.

The Orange Country Coroner’s Office said the cause of death will be determined from toxicology results after an autopsy. Due to the incident, the University has banned all activities at the fraternity.

On Monday, the police revealed that Domingo had died due to accidental alcohol poisoning. Domingo’s autopsy report will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office to determine whether anyone should be held accountable for his death.

Authorities from the University said they will be checking that campus fraternities and sororities engage in behaviors and practices that are in line with university policies.
