A Filipino-American man charged in the US two years ago for child pornography and on the run ever since from American authorities has been arrested in Clark, Pampanga province, Philippines.

According to Vincente Danao Jr, Manila Police District (MPD) chief superintendent, Joel Pasay, 56, was charged with violation of Receipt of Child Pornography Title 18 of Code 2251A(a)(2) issued by the US District Court for the District of Nevada on May 2, 2017, the Manila Bulletin reported.

Pasay allegedly distributed child pornography in the US state of Nevada. On October 29, 2018, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) ordered Pasay’s deportation after the US Department of Homeland Security learned that he was hiding in the Southeast Asian country.

The MPD initially received information that Pasay was seen along Pacheco Street in Mania’s Tondo district, but he was nowhere to be found in that area as he had already gone to Angeles, a city in Pampanga adjacent to the Clark area.

The MPD, BI and US Department of Homeland Security conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of Pasay in his home in Pampanga on Sunday afternoon.

Pasay will be deported from the Philippines to the US, where he could face imprisonment.
