A Filipino woman was injured in a multiple-vehicle collision that killed two people in Kazakhstan.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said the accident involved three buses, two cars and an ambulance and left two dead and 27 injured. The DFA identified the Filipina as Jennifer Francisco Lavapiez.
Lavapiez informed the Philippine Embassy in Moscow through its Facebook page about the accident and her condition and received assistance from the DFA. “The Embassy is monitoring her situation and is coordinating with its contacts in Kazakhstan in following up with the bus company on their support for the victims of the collision,” the DFA said.
According to Carlos Sorreta, the ambassador to Russia, Lavapiez was in a stable condition and was also being assisted by her employer.
