向來以「大膽直言」著稱的法國「平民議員」弗朗索瓦·魯芬（François Ruffin）近日因為自稱「工資連中國人都不如」而惹火上身，引來法國多位政要「歧視亞洲人」的批評。
近日，法國執政黨「共和國前進黨」（La République En Marche !）議員羅西（Lauriane Rossi）向法國左翼政黨「不屈法國」（la France Insoumise）黨議員弗朗索瓦·魯芬開火，稱其在國民議會的出席率不夠，拿著津貼卻把公路電影等事務當作優先事項。
執政黨另一名韓法混血議員黛爾芬．奧（Delphine O）則將魯芬比喻為「幽靈議員」，「拿著國民議會的薪水，還通過出書和電影等個人工作賺外快。」
對此，魯芬在8日一段公開視頻中回應稱他只領法國最低工資，是國民議會裏「成本最低的成員」。他還嘲諷了奧，稱其在國民議會的發言「和她的姓氏一樣短」。可查的數據顯示，魯芬曾在國民議會發言463次，羅西117次，奧則為13次。
魯芬稱，他作為議員，每月僅按法定最低工資標準領取1,200歐元（約1352美元）津貼。而通常，一名議員的稅前津貼應為7,000歐元左右。他強調自己拍電影及寫書的酬勞都捐給了慈善組織和政治運動，還自嘲道：「按照這個標準，我還不如一個『在國民議會工作的中國人』，甚至不如印度人、孟加拉人……」
「工資不如中國人」的說法為魯芬招來「種族歧視」的猛烈抨擊。奧批評魯芬舉的例子是「反亞裔的種族主義」：「所以對你（魯芬）來說，『華人』就是廉價勞動力？你取笑我的姓氏是因為不了解亞裔姓氏，這很短。我為自己的姓氏感到驕傲。」
法國政府發言人格里沃（Benjamin Griveaux）對奧表示了支持，並指責魯芬說：「我們知道他煽動民眾，信奉民粹主義、反議會制……魯芬現在墮入了最卑鄙的種族主義。」
不過，也有人對此持不同意見。有人批評「魯芬有很多不足，但指控其種族主義是一種滑稽可笑的政治做法。」
魯芬向來作風特立獨行，作為馬克龍高中同學的他從不穿西服打領帶，議會主席多次點名批評他不把襯衫塞進褲子的著裝問題，因而獲得「平民議員」稱號。
針對此次歧視危機，有網友為他打抱不平：法律規定議員每月的津貼為7,239.91歐元，魯芬履行承諾只拿最低工資（1,498.47歐元），的確收入不高。
早在2017年6月當選為索姆省第一選區的國會議員時，他就主動保證說將只領取法定最低工資，並將除此之外的剩餘收入捐贈給慈善機構。不過根據法媒的說法，魯芬曾在2018年6月表示後悔自己當初的承諾，並稱「早知道我就說只拿一半工資了，這樣可能更合理」。
魯芬是法國文化界名人，曾被視為抗議勞動法改革運動的主要推手。2016年魯芬導演的電影《謝謝老闆》（Merci patron !）獲得了第42屆法國凱撒獎最佳紀錄片獎。法媒稱他的收入主要來自影視行業的收益。
魯芬在「不屈法國」黨內具有較高的人氣，據說與該黨派創始人梅朗雄（Jean-Luc Mélenchon）私交甚好。梅朗雄在2017年的總統競選中止步第一輪。《費加羅報》曾在一篇社論上稱 「魯芬被總統的位置吸引，就像蛾子被火光吸引」。梅朗雄曾鼓勵魯芬，「不要排除參加大選的可能性。」2022年，法國就將迎來下一次總統選舉，魯芬可能是下一個崛起的候選人。
