A total of 24 people were arrested in anti-crime operations by Hong Kong law enforcers on Thursday. Acting on a tip-off and after a thorough investigation, officers from the police, immigration department and labor department conducted operations against illegal employment and vice in Eastern District on Hong Kong Island, Oriental Daily reported.

Three Vietnamese women aged between 28 and 37 were arrested in a shop at a shopping arcade in Shau Kei Wan for entering the city illegally. A 41-year-old man from mainland China was arrested in North Point for overstaying and using a forged identification card.

Officials also arrested 20 mainland Chinese women aged between 22 and 52 from various apartments along Chun Yeung Street and King’s Road in North Point for overstaying and soliciting for an immoral purpose.

One of the women arrested was holding a passport and the rest were two-way entry permits holders. All those arrested were detained at a police station for further investigation.
