An American man has been arrested in Pampanga in the Philippines for distributing child pornography online.

According to Bob Raquepo, chief of the Bureau of Immigration – Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), Gary James Dakulil arrived in the Philippines on January after he was charged with distribution of child pornography in Minnesota in the United States, GMA News reported.

The US Diplomatic Security Service’s Office of Overseas Criminal Investigation ordered Dakulil’s arrest in the Philippines. The US State Department cancelled Dakulil’s passport, which made him an undocumented foreigner in the Philippines.

Raquepo said Dakulil set up a photography shop business in Pampanga, which became his legal cover to continue the production and distribution of child porn material online. Dakulil was also planning to recruit minors for his illegal trade, he alleged.

After weeks of surveillance, the BI-FSU found Dakulil and arrested him at his two-storey villa in Pampanga on early Thursday morning. Dakulil will be deported back to the US, where he will face the judicial process.
