Tuesday may have been Chinese Valentine’s Day, but for one couple living in Kowloon, Hong Kong, it was the day when a man’s third wife attacked him with a knife after a dispute over household chores.
The assault happened at around 10pm when the 60-year-old man surnamed Leung returned home to Oi Man Estate in Ho Man Tin, Sing Tao Daily reported. When he found his wife asleep, he woke her and asked why, instead of folding his clothes, she had left them in a corner.
His wife reportedly became so angry that she ran into the kitchen, grabbed a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed Leung three times.
The couple struggled and when the knife fell to the floor, Leung stepped on it and called the police. He was sent to hospital for medical treatment for minor injuries to his shoulder, hand and abdomen.
His wife was arrested for alleged wounding and was taken to the police station for questioning.
Leung said he would drop the case only if his wife showed her remorse and apologized.
