A nine-year-old Filipino girl was found tied up and badly bruised under a bridge in Cainta, Rizal in the Philippines.

On Tuesday morning, the Filipino girl, whose identity has not been revealed, was found with her hands tied together and her neck tied under the Ortigas Extension bridge in Cainta. Local resident Jose Abarera was passing by when he saw the girl and called for help, GMA News reported.

Abarera said the girl had bruises on many parts of her body and ants were crawling over her. She was rushed to hospital for treatment.

The attending physician said that on arrival at the hospital, the girl’s eyes were closed and her ear was bleeding. The doctor said there were ligature marks, which indicated that her neck had been tied with a rope, as well as scars and bruises all over her body.

Although not in critical condition, the girl was transferred to another hospital to undergo a CT scan. Family members of the girl declined to give a statement and police are currently investigating the case.
