A study conducted by a social media management firm indicates that internet users in the Philippines spend more time online than people from any other country in the world.
According to the Digital 2019 report produced by Hootsuite and creative agency We Are Social, Filipino internet users spend about 10 hours and two minutes each day online, inquirer.net reported. This far exceeds the global average of six hours and 42 minutes.
The report also shows that Filipinos are the most active users of social media, spending about four hours and 12 minutes on different social media platforms daily. This is nearly double the global daily average of two hours and 16 minutes.
In the previous year’s report, the average time spent online in the Philippines was nine hours and 29 minutes, and Thailand internet users were listed as the world’s heaviest users of the internet.
