A Filipino man has been found dead with stab wounds in his home in Diamond Bar in California.

Dante Bautista-Batimana, 69, who is from Imus town in Cavite, in the Philippines, was found dead in his home in Trigger Lane in the United States by his roommate on January 28.

Police said Batimana suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.

Charles Calderaro of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said a suspect has yet to be identified, because police had yet to find a neighbor who heard or saw the incident. Authorities were speaking to people in the area, trying to find witnesses but had not had any success as of press time.

“We want to question everybody, but we have not identified a suspect,” Calderaro said.

Calderaro said the roommate does not appear to be related to the victim and there may be other people who live with them at the house.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau called on the public to provide any information they may have on Batimana’s death, by contacting them at 323-890-5500.

Batimana’s family has called on the Filipino community in Diamond Bar to contact the police if they have any information on the case and has set up a fund-raising drive to raise money for the victim’s burial, GMA News reported.
