An apartment in Kowloon was burgled and thieves made off with a safe containing about 30 luxury watches estimated to be worth about HK$3 million (US$382,284).

A domestic worker returned home after picking up a child from school and found the door of the apartment at 295 Prince Edward Road West in Kowloon City had been forced open, the Oriental Daily reported. The apartment had been ransacked and a safe in a bedroom which contained about 30 luxury watches inside was missing.

The watches were estimated to be worth about HK$3 million. The maid immediately informed her 49-year-old employer, who called the police. Officers checked surveillance camera footage of the building and discovered two Chinese men acting suspiciously. The footage showed the two suspects entering the building and taking a safe and leaving.

When officers checked other surveillance camera footage from buildings nearby, they found a seven-seater vehicle had been parked on La Salle Road, about 100 meters from the apartment. The footages showed the two suspects getting into the vehicle with the safe and leaving. Police are hunting for the two men.
