根據韓國汽車製造商協會周日公布的數據，兩年前全球銷量排名第五的汽車生產國韓國去年跌至第七。亞洲時報（Asiatimes.com）報導

據韓聯社報導，韓國汽車製造商協會發現，中國是2018年的第一大製造商，其次是美國、日本、德國、印度、墨西哥和韓國。 南韓是一個擁有現代（Hyundai）、起亞（Kia）、雙龍（SsangYong）、通用大宇（GM Daewoo）和雷諾三星（Renault Samsung）等全球知名品牌的國家，在2005年至2015年間排名第五，在過去三年中落後於印度，而在最近落後於墨西哥。

根據韓國汽車製造商協會的數據，韓國汽車製造商在2018年生產了403萬輛汽車，佔全球汽車產量的4.1％。相比下，他們在2017年的生產量為412萬輛，2016年為423萬輛，2015年為456萬輛。

在國際上，隨著全球需求量的下降，韓國汽車製造商受到出口下滑的打擊，這個問題至少是導致2018年位於群山的通用大宇製造廠關閉的部分原因。

在國內，他們需要支付高昂工資並且還需要面對來自工會的挑戰。特別是，現代汽車的工會會員因其高工資和優厚的工作條件而被稱為韓國的「打工貴族」。自2012年以來，他們每年都會罷工。

因此，從長遠趨勢來看，韓國汽車製造商一直向海外遷移，例如巴西、中國、東歐、印度、墨西哥、俄羅斯、土耳其和美國等地。

汽車製造商的代表，韓國汽車製造商協會的一名工作人員告訴當地媒體，韓國的排名下降是由於勞資雙方之間的對抗關係，加上勞動力成本高，裝配線效率低。

韓國汽車製造商協會在上周公布的另一份數據中發現，汽車出口的數據好壞參半。調查發現，當去年汽車出口數量下降了1.6％，這些出口的單位成本也增加了1.6％，主要是因為價格較高的運動型多功能車，其出口數量比2017年增長了6.7％。由於過去三年的低油價，全球SUV需求飆升。

但韓國汽車製造商協會發現，無論定價如何，韓國製造的汽車整體出口量自2012年以來一直在下降。
