隱藏的攝像頭還記錄下了這兩位老師毆打低齡學生的過程。錄像顯示，她們多次強行拖拽、腳踹、推搡，用棍棒毆打幼童。
錄像中的兩位華人女性，一位被確認為38歲的Zheng Moli，一位被確認為26歲的Hong Pingping，未能確定是中國籍還是意大利籍。據監控錄像顯示，她們毆打小朋友，還把孩子舉起來扔到地上，拿著細「教棍」毆打他們。這些學生們都是華裔。
虐童事件發生在意大利北部的托斯卡納地區的普拉托。這座幼兒園位於普拉托的中國城。
虐待無還擊能力的兒童已令人發指，更讓人無法接受的是這兩位華人教師強詞奪理。Zheng嫌疑人稱自己在中國獲得教育學位，對自己虐童行為表示很無辜：「因為，我從小就是被老師這樣打大的啊」、「毆打學生的行為在中國是很普遍的」、「在中國，用教棍能提高孩子們的意識。沒人告訴我在意大利用教棍打孩子是非法的。」
一開始，警方也完全沒有想到，這個華人幼兒園裡會存在虐童現象，因為在此次事件被曝之前，這個幼兒園從來沒有被家長投訴過虐童。
這起案件之所以被警方發現，是幼兒園一名工作人員向朋友抱怨同事工作時的暴力態度，該友人聽了之後將信息透露給了警方。
從去年12月起，意大利警方就開始對這個幼兒園進行調查，安裝了3個隱蔽攝像頭，拍到了兩位嫌疑人令人心寒的行徑。
