قالت وكالة رويترز أمس، اﻹثنين، إن الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو سعى إلى الحصول على دعم منظمة الدول المصدرة للنفط «أوبك» ضد العقوبات المفروضة من الولايات المتحدة على صادراتها النفطية.
وأوضحت الوكالة أن مادورو أرسل خطابًا أواخر يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي اطلعت عليه رويترز إلى محمد باركيندو، اﻷمين العام للمنظمة، قال فيه إن بلاده «تأمل في تلقي التضامن والدعم الكامل من الدول اﻷعضاء في أوبك ومؤتمرها الوزاري في المعركة التي نخوضها ضد التدخل الاعتباطي وغير القانوني من الولايات المتحدة في الشؤون الداخلية لفنزويلا». وبحسب الوكالة، فإن المنظمة رفضت التعليق على الخطاب.
وتواجه فنزويلا أزمة سياسية كبيرة بعد فوز مادورو في انتخابات رئاسية أُجريت في مايو/أيار 2018، وهي الانتخابات التي واجهت اتهامات متعددة بالفساد بسبب ترويع المعارضين ومنع بعض المرشحين من الترشح أمام مادورو. ومع انتهاء فترة مادورو الرئاسية اﻷولى، وحلفه اليمين لفترة رئاسية ثانية في يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي، أعلن البرلمان الفنزويلي خلو مقعد الرئيس، كما أعلن تولي رئيس البرلمان خوان جويدو المنصب.
وأعلنت أكثر من 40 دولة دعمها جويدو بديلًا عن مادورو، على رأسها الولايات المتحدة ودول الاتحاد اﻷوروبي واليابان.
وبحسب وكالة رويترز، تسببت العقوبات ضد النفط الفنزويلي في ارتفاع أسعار البترول، والتي وصلت إلى 62 دولارًا أمس اﻹثنين.
وشهدت فترة مادورو الرئاسية اﻷولى انهيارًا في الاقتصاد الفنزويلي بعد تدهور عملتها، وارتفاع نسبة التضخم إلى مستويات غير مسبوقة.
