أعلنت شركة «شانيل» عن وفاة «كارل لاغرفيلد»، الشريك والمدير اﻹبداعي فيها، اليوم، الثلاثاء في باريس عن عمر يناهز 85 عامًا.
ولم يُعلن عن سبب الوفاة حتى اﻵن، لكن شكوكًا حول حالة «لاغرفيلد» الصحية كانت قد تصاعدت خلال اﻷسابيع الماضية بعدما تغيب عن حضور عرض اﻷزياء الخاص به في يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي، حسبما نقلت صحيفة الجارديان.
ولد «لاغرفيلد» في عام 1933 في مدينة «هامبورج» اﻷلمانية، وبدأ العمل في مجال الموضة واﻷزياء منذ عام 1955. والتحق «لاغرفيلد»، الذي عُرف بلقب «القيصر»، بشركة «شانيل»، أحد أكبر شركات اﻷزياء في العالم في عام 1983.
وبحسب تقرير نشرته وكالة رويترز، استطاع «لاغرفيلد» إنقاذ «شانيل» من التحول إلى بيت أزياء «للجدات اﻷثرياء»، لتنتقل بفضله إلى عرش صناعة الموضة واﻷزياء في العالم. في عام 2017، نشرت شركة «شانيل» للمرة اﻷولى قيمة أرباحها، والتي وصلت إلى 1.7 مليار دولار خلال عام واحد.
وامتلأت شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي برسائل وداع للأسطورة الراحل، وشارك مشاهير عالم الموضة بكلمات أعربوا فيها عن فضل «لاغرفيلد» عليهم في هذا العالم.
