Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has spoken out after a security officer at Noi Bai International Airport was assaulted.
On January 11, security officer Nguyen Van Diep spotted taxi service operator Tran Thi Ly trying to get passengers at the E lobby area in the airport’s terminal 1, Viet Nam News reported. When Diep tried to stop Ly, he was attacked by two other men who were with Ly.
Airport officials said the group had been offering illegal taxi services to travelers. Deputy PM Truong instructed Hanoi’s People’s Committee to handle the case strictly and has demanded the results of the investigation be reported before January 20.
The instructions were sent to the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport and the Hanoi People’s Committee. Truong asked authorities to find out who was responsible for the assault.
The ministries were also requested to coordinate with local authorities and improve transport services.
