Indonesian police have made 13 arrests after an altercation in Jakarta, Indonesia over the weekend resulted in the stabbing death of a teenager.
Adam Ilham, 16, stopped at a gas station in Tambora, West Jakarta with three friends to refuel their motorcycles at around 4am on January 20, The Jakarta Post reported. Soon after, they passed through an alley near Jalan Tanah Sereal Raya where they saw another group of youths.
Ilham and his friends reportedly exchanged words with the group, who instantly gave chase. When Ilham fell off his motorcycle he was jumped by the gang and stabbed repeatedly.
The victim, a resident of Tanah Sereal, was rushed to a nearby health community center and then transferred to the Tarakan General Hospital in Central Jakarta, where he succumbed to his wounds.
13 people linked to the case have been arrested by the police, with six of them being pointed out as the alleged perpetrators of the murder.
The police added that three of those arrested tested positive for drugs.
