Police and Immigration Department officials arrested seven people aged from 19 to 64 in an anti-vice operation launched on Hong Kong Island on Wednesday.
Officers from a special duty unit and a task force at the Western District Police Station, plus others from a tactical unit at the Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters and officials from the Immigration Department raided a number of unlicensed massage establishments at 10am, Oriental Daily reported.
These establishments on Des Voeux Road West, Ko Shing Street in Western District and Lee Wing Street in Ap Lei Chau were suspected carrying out vice activities.
During the raids, a mainland Chinese man, six foreign women, including four from Thailand, one from the Philippines and one from the United States were arrested.
They were arrested for allegedly keeping a vice establishment, operation of unlicensed massage establishments, illegal employment, breach of people’s condition of stay, overstay and aiding and abetting the breach of a condition of stay, Headline Daily reported.
Massage beds, mattresses, towels and massage oil were confiscated during the raid.
Some of the individuals arrested were handed to the Immigration Department for further follow-up action.
