Police have identified three people of interest in the murder of a 12-year-old Filipino student in Caloocan City in the Philippines.
The victim Myrrhaquel Singson came home early from school on Wednesday afternoon because it was her exam week. At around 3pm the family’s household helper arrived at the house and found Singson’s body on the floor, GMA News reported.
The helper said the girl’s throat was slit and her body covered in blood. The victim’s father, Colenso Singson, said he was at work when he was notified by police of what had happened.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry, which hints at the possibility that the suspect is someone close to the family. Two mobile phones were also missing.
Colenso said only his brother-in-law – the girl’s uncle – has a copy of the key to their house and that he took a bath in the house at noon on the day his daughter was found dead.
The police have called in the uncle as a person of interest in the case, as well as her cousin, who has a record of alleged theft.
The third person of interest is a stay out helper, who has been working for the family for only six days.
