A 31-year-old domestic worker from Indonesian was found dead at her employer’s home in Tune Mun in the New Territories on Monday in what officials described as a suicide.
At 10:30 am, the woman’s 35-year-old male employer called police to report that his Indonesian domestic worker had hung herself with a scarf at an apartment in Block 2 at Goodrich Garden on 9 Leung Tak Street in Tuen Mun, the Sing Tao Daily reported.
Police and paramedics arrived and untied the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers could not find a suicide note in the apartment.
After an initial investigation, police found nothing suspicious but were waiting for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death. It was the second case of an Indonesia maid committing suicide in one month.
On January 16, a 27-year-old Indonesian domestic worker was found dead, hanging inside her employer’s home in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon.
