A 12-year-old Filipino girl was killed after her throat was slit by an unknown intruder at her home in Caloocan City in the Philippines.

On Wednesday afternoon, the victim Miracle Singson went home early from school because it was her exam week. At around 3pm, the family’s household helper arrived and found Singson’s body lying on the floor, GMA News reported.

The girl’s throat was reportedly slit and her body was covered in blood.

The victim’s father, Colenso Singson, said he was at work when the police called him to inform him of what had happened. According to the police, there was no sign of forced entry in the house, which hints at the possibility that the person they are looking for is someone close to the family.

Colenso said only his brother-in-law has a copy of the key to their house and that he took a bath in the house at noon on the day his daughter was found dead.

The police are currently investigating the case and the identity of the killer remains unknown.
