A Filipino tourist has been reported missing in Bali after family members lost contact with her after Christmas. In a statement, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs said Ella Malmaceda Paaño, 25, left for Bali on December 22 and was supposed to return to the Philippines on December 28, but the last time her family heard from her was Christmas Day.
“Paaño’s mobile phone cannot be contacted and her last Facebook post was on December 24,” the DFA said.
Paaño’s sisters traveled to Manila from Camarines Sur province on Tuesday to request the assistance of the DFA in finding her.
The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta has filed a missing-person report and says it is coordinating with Indonesian authorities in an effort to locate the woman.
The DFA said if there is any information on Paaño’s whereabouts, her family can be contacted at +639081427763 or +639125788021.
