A Filipino migrant worker was killed after he was stabbed and strangled by a fellow Filipino in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Philippine Embassy identified the victim as Monico Basco Manansala, a subcontract worker for Rimal Alswahel Co.
But the Embassy did not disclose the suspect’s name, as the case is still being investigated by Saudi police, ABS-CBN News reported.
Assistance to Nationals Unit Officer Abdulhalim Langco said the two Filipinos got into a fistfight, which led to the suspect stabbing Manansala to death. The cause of the fight is not known and no further details were revealed.
The suspect could face the death penalty if found guilty in court.
The Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office will extend full assistance to both Filipinos and their families.
A similar incident happened in Jeddah last October.
A Filipino driver was stabbed to death by his Filipino co-worker in front of their employer’s house after the two became involved in a fight. The suspect was arrested immediately after the incident.
