Police have arrested a Filipino man after a 13-year-old girl filed a complaint that her guardian raped her in September last year. Ramon Berin, a 39-year-old accounting executive, was the girl’s guardian and was close to her parents.
According to the girl, identified only as Kat, the incident happened in September last year, GMA News reported.
The Grade 7 student said Berin asked her to have a meal with him at his house. After the meal, Berin suddenly took off his clothes. The girl said Berin asked her to keep quiet and not to tell anyone what happened.
Berin forcibly took off the victim’s clothes. When the young girl tried to get away from him by punching him, Berin allegedly raped her. Pasig police arrested Berin on January 16 after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
He denied the girl’s allegations and claimed he and the girl never met on September 12. Berin is now detained at the Pasig police headquarters.
