Special mention-winning entry 'Shadow Evening' by Le Trung Hung of Vietnam.

Three Vietnamese photographers emerged victorious, sweeping top prizes at the 14th Orhan Holding International Contest in Bursa, Turkey. Other Vietnamese photographers’ entries were granted “special mentions”.

The contest saw photographer Dang Quang Vinh take the International Federation of Photographic Art’s best author award, as well as the Ohran Holding special award for his piece “Molder” in the experimental category, VN Express reported.

A total of 12 awards were given to Vietnamese contestants, with Vinh taking home five of them. His work is largely focused on life in fishing villages.

Luong Nguyen Thien Chuong won the gold medal in the black-and-white category. His winning piece,“Gingli”, depicts a man in a cave who is fishing with a net.

The bronze medal in the color category was awarded to Vu Manh Cuong’s “Summer on the lotus pond”, which is an aerial shot of a boat on a river covered with lotus leaves.

A contest that 14 years ago started out as a domestic affair in Turkey, the Orhan Holding International Contest has developed into a prestigious global photography event. The latest contest saw over 5,000 entries from 71 countries.
