A Filipino man was hospitalized in Ilocos Sur in the Philippines after he accidentally shot himself in the penis. According to the Masingal police, the 50-year-old man was urinating when his handgun, which was in a shoulder holster, accidentally went off when he touched it, ABS-CBN News reported.
The man was taken to a hospital in Masingal, where doctors had to surgically remove his penis. Christopher Bueno, chief of the Masingal police, said that the man first claimed that someone shot him.
“At first, he was denying it, that someone had shot him, but after our investigation, it was learned that the man shot himself,” Bueno said.
The man faces charges for illegal possession of a firearm, which has a penalty of imprisonment.
The man and his family refused to comment on the incident.
