The Indonesian domestic worker, whose employer was killed when a school bus crashed in North Point on Hong Kong Island, but her family have indicated they want to keep her employed.

According to the second son of the deceased woman, the Indonesian domestic worker was hired mainly to take care of his 80-year-old mother, news website HK01.com reported.

After a discussion with the family, the son said they wanted to continue hiring her even his mother had died in the accident on Monday. He said the family would discuss the matter with the domestic worker.

On Tuesday morning, the family and the domestic worker went to the site and mourned the dead woman with flowers and incense.

On Monday, the elderly woman and the domestic worker went to a wet market when the accident happened. The elderly woman had stopped in front of a store on Hei Wo Street and was hit by the school bus while the domestic worker went to another store to buy vegetables.

The worker rushed back to the scene and called for the old woman, only to find she had been killed. The maid was in shock and sat on the floor and wailed.

Two Filipinos were also injured in the accident. Marjorie Nim Salvador, a 43-year-old Filipina domestic worker, was knocked down in the panic to avoid being hit by the runaway school bus, the South China Morning Post reported.

Salvador, who came to Hong Kong to work only four months ago, was pushing her 89-year-old employer on Hei Wo Street when the accident happened. Her employer was trapped under the bus and is in a critical condition, while Salvador suffered minor injuries to her back and shoulder and was discharged from a hospital on Tuesday.

Another Filipino victim, a 50-year-old driver Velasco Silvestre, said he was coming out of a restaurant on Cheung Hong Street when the open door of the moving bus hit him. His elbow was injured.
