A 25-year-old Indonesian worker was jailed for six weeks after pleading guilty to four counts of theft of more than S$3,000 (US$2,186) worth of valuables from the two homes of her employer and his family between May and June this year.

The court heard that in a two month period, the domestic worker stole more than S$3,000 worth of valuables from her employer and his family. The first theft happened on May 23, when she took a S$300 iPod and S$1,200 in cash from the home in Block 20 on Queen’s Close.

On May 27, she committed another theft by helping herself to S$1,400 in cash. On June 16, she stole a Samsung mobile phone worth S$559 from the Queen’s Close apartment and then about one week later on June 25 she stole a chain of keys at the home in Block 338A on Anchorvale Crescent.
