A Filipino man who was convicted of filming his female roommates naked in the shower lost his appeal and will be jailed for six months in Dubai.

The 41-year-old Filipino installed a GoPro camera on the ceiling of their apartment’s bathroom and took videos of his roommates, who were Filipinas, while they were in the shower, Gulf News reported.

One of the Filipinas, who works as a secretary, discovered the camera and informed her roommates, who managed to remove the camera from the ceiling. They took out the memory card to check its contents and found footage of themselves naked in the shower.

The women confronted the man, who admitted he had fixed the camera in the ceiling. The Filipinas initially did not report the incident to police after the man convinced them he had deleted the footage.

However, one of the Filipinas checked the memory card and found about 100 videos and images of herself and her roommates in the shower. They reported the matter to the police and the man was arrested.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the man of violating the privacy of his compatriots and breaching their modesty by filming them nude. The man pleaded not guilty to the charges and filed an appeal to reduce his punishment.

The appeal was dismissed and he was sentenced to six months in prison. The court also ordered the man’s deportation after he serves his sentence.
