A Filipino-American student succumbed to his injuries two days after he was in car accident in Ewing, New Jersey. At 2am on Monday, Michael Sot, 20, who was in his second year at the College of New Jersey, was out with friends and was the designated driver that night.
Sot was driving when an allegedly impaired driver crossed into the oncoming lane and struck his vehicle, ABS-CBN News reported.
Sot suffered major injuries and died two days after the crash.
There were six passengers riding with Sot during the crash, all of them also students. They suffered injuries in the accident, including broken bones, a ruptured bladder and a brain injury.
The other driver, David Lamar, 22, was charged with vehicular homicide and seven counts of second-degree assault by auto. Lamar was allegedly impaired at the time of the crash.
