A video showing diners tucking into a dish of wriggling coconut worms in Vietnam has gone viral on the internet. The clip zooms into the bugs twitching in pieces of carrot and chili with fish sauce, The Sun disclosed.
One of the diners then calmly eats a worm as his friends laugh in the background.
Coconut worm larvae come from eggs laid by large beetles and are considered a delicacy because of their sweet taste. They are generally seen as pests because they infect and eat coconuts.
Still, in Vietnam, a single coconut worm can cost around 25,000 Vietnamese dong (US$1).
