Canadian police are on the lookout for two Vietnamese girls who were reported missing more than a week ago.

According to the police in Moncton City, New Brunswick, the host families of Ngan Ngoc Nguyen and her cousin Diu Thu Thi Nguyen reported them as missing on November 12, VN Express reported.

The two 17-year-old girls were last seen at a bus depot in Moncton City boarding a bus to Montreal on November 9. The police suspect that they could have been heading to Toronto.

Authorities have requested members of the public to come forward with any information they have regarding the two exchange students.

The number of Vietnamese students in Canada is rising sharply. There were about 7,900 students from Vietnam in 2016. That number increased by 89% to around 15,000 in 2017.
