The Philippine government has announced that more than 1,000 Filipino medical workers are needed in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
On Monday, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said that Saudi Arabia is in need of at least 1,000 Filipino nurses while Abu Dhabi is hiring 150 emergency medical technicians, GMA News reported.
POEA said that qualified applicants are not required to pay a placement fee and will be working under a government-to-government scheme which will ensure that the rights of the Filipino workers are protected.
POEA said interested applicants should be registered nurses who have been in practice for at least two years and have experience of working in operating theaters and emergency rooms.
In a statement, the POEA said nurses will be given a paid annual vacation with free round trip economy ticket, free food and accommodation, and a monthly salary of 4,110 Saudi riyals (US$1,096).
