The Philippine government has sent a team to Saipan to help Filipino workers that were affected by Typhoon Yutu.
On Thursday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sent a two-person team to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands to distribute cash assistance to affected Filipino workers and check on their conditions.
The team was due to also meet with officials in Saipan, Rappler reported.
According to Consul General Marciano de Borja, some Filipinos in Saipan have lost their houses after the typhoon struck and have limited access to food and water.
Typhoon Yutu, also known as Rosita in the Philippines, hit the country this week and triggered landslides and floods in the northern parts of Luzon.
The storm left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday, leaving at least 13 dead due to landslides.
According to data from the DFA, there are about 15,000 Filipinos in Saipan, which is the largest island in the Northern Marianas.
