A Filipino man has been charged for an alleged fatal assault on a friend after a night out drinking in Dubai.
The incident happened on August 10. The male Filipino nurse, 28, was drunk and had an argument with a friend, which turned into a brawl. The Filipino allegedly pushed the victim, who fell and hit his head on the pavement, the Khaleej Times reported.
According to the Filipino, some Pakistani men stepped in to stop the fight and he left the scene. When he came back to check on his friend, he discovered the victim had died due to a severe internal brain hemorrhage.
A Pakistani worker, 25, called the police and the Filipino was reported.
During questioning, the Filipino told two different stories about the incident. Initially, he claimed that the victim was assaulted by the Pakistani men, but he later revealed that they had consumed liquor and performed sex acts on two men.
The Filipino and the victim then had an argument as one of them wanted to meet more men while the other wanted to go home. The argument turned into a brawl and the victim died.
The Court of Misdemeanours charged the Filipino nurse with consuming alcohol without a license, making a false police report and having sex with a male.
The trial is due to continue on November 29.
