A Japanese man has been arrested for killing his Filipino ex-girlfriend at a restaurant in Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan.

At around 11.20pm on Thursday, Yasumasa Yamaguchi, 45, allegedly stabbed Rowena Casimiro Haga at a restaurant they used to frequent in Hamamatsu city, The Japan Times reported.

Haga was found lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds to her chest. The Filipina was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries early last Friday morning.

The suspect drove away but was arrested around four hours later on a road about two kilometers from the crime scene.

According to the police, Haga and Yamaguchi ended their relationship in June.

The Filipina had complained that she was being stalked by Yamaguchi. Indeed, the suspect was warned by the police not to approach the Filipina in June after he tried to force his way into her home.
