Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has intervened after a 35-year-old Filipina domestic worker was seen working at heights painting the exterior of a three-story home on Pavilion Street. The ministry is now trying to establish if the woman’s employer may be guilty of endangering the health or safety of their worker.
The incident became public after a Facebook user named Catherine Plagne-Ismail, posted two videos on social media. The videos were accompanied by comments criticizing the house owner, arguing that painting the outside of a house should not be the duty of a domestic worker, the Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported.
In one of the videos, the domestic worker was seen painting while perched precariously on a tall ladder that was propped up against the second floor of the house.
In another video, the domestic worker was seen squatting on a ledge outside the third story of the house.
The worker was reportedly visited by officers from the Ministry of Manpower during her second day of painting work.
She had no idea she had been filmed until the officers said they were concerned for her safety after seeing the videos.
The victim admitted that she was very afraid, but did not dare to disobey employers for whom she had been working for three years.
For failing to ensure the foreign domestic worker performed her duties in a manner which does not endanger her life or personal safety, the employer could be fined up to S$10,000, face a jail term of up to 12 months, or both.

Wtf! Why didn’t the employer hire a painter to do the job? This is not the job of a domestic helper. That’s very dangerous. Will the employer accept to bare the consequences if anything bad happen to her helper? Come-on that’s a human life there and she do not deserve to loss her life in this way. Crazy! Hope the employer get fine and spend some times in jail.

GOOD.. THE EMPLOYERS ARE BRUTAL
The point here is, Singapore’s govt employees are doing their jobs and taking actions no matter who you are.

Via Saldivar, she didn’t dare to disobey means she didn’t have the necessary courage or boldness to disobey; she wasn’t bold enough -wala siyang guts na suwayin yung utos ng mga amo. So it means hindi siya nagdisobey though she should know and exercise her rights. Hindi porke’t helper ay pwede na lahat ipagawa. So mga OFWs eye opener dapat ito, know that you have the right to say no when employers are going beyond the scope of your responsibilities
Read again please. "She did not dare disobey", meaning she obeyed her employer for fear of being fired. Opposite yung interpretation mo sis.
