A Hong Kong-based domestic worker lost more than PHP 300,000 (US$5,687) and personal belongings to a thief who befriended her at the airport in Manila on Monday when she went home for a vacation.
The victim, Germelie Martin, reported the theft to police at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City, sunwebhk.com reported.
Martin said she was approached by a woman, Kay Juvy Macalalad Zamora of San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan, and they had a friendly chat while she was waiting in the departure area for a connecting flight to Tuguegarao City.
The two had snacks inside the airport. Martin withdrew PHP270,000 from a bank and the woman accompanied her to the ladies’ room.
When Martin came out from the ladies’ room, Zamora had vanished. Her cash, along with her bag containing HK$10,000 (US$1,276), four mobile phones, jewelry, her passport and other important documents were also gone, Philippine News Agency reported.
Martin reported the case to police. After an investigation, police arrested the suspect on Wednesday and recovered some of the stolen items and PHP65,000 in cash.
The alleged theft not only ruined Martin’s vacation, but also deprived her of the chance to redeem a property her family had mortgaged to secure a loan.
Airport officials said the suspect had been involved in other incidents with returning overseas Filipino workers.

I suggest you that whoever else either your country people or other side people please please please you do have to understand why she or he wants to be close to you? You have to question by yourself and do take extra care of yourself without trusting anyone except yourself otherwise ending up in a serious grievances. I feel so sad reading this article.
