A video showing a teenage girl being hit by a taxi in Sai Kung in the New Territories went viral on social media on Tuesday. The one-minute video from a dashboard camera showed a green taxi going along Po Tung Street towards Sai Kung, Oriental Daily reported.

Several pedestrians were waiting to cross the road outside the Sai Kung Tsung Tsin Church and a girl wearing a school uniform and a backpack suddenly came out from the crowd and tried to cross the road.

The taxi hit the girl who was thrown into air before hitting the ground. However, after being hit the girl stood up and limped to the sidewalk. Her belongings and mobile phones were scattered on the road.

According to the video uploaded by a Facebook group, the girl was looking to her left and not noticing the cars coming from her right.

Police confirmed that a teenage girl was hit by a taxi at 4:27pm on Tuesday and she suffered leg injuries. She was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment, news website HK01.com reported.
