A Filipino-American man who was reported missing in September was found dead in a pond near his home in Richmond, Texas in the United States.

At 1am on September 25, Jeremy Arceo, 21, who was a naval reservist, left his home on Mellow Oaks Lane for a jog, which he routinely did. When he failed to return home, his family called the authorities, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The authorities conducted a search, but Arceo was not found. On October 1, a man walking his dog discovered Arceo’s body in a pond near his home.

Although the authorities found nothing that might indicate foul play was involved in Arceo’s death, his uncle Chuck Barrette said that his family feels that it seems suspicious.

“He is in impeccable shape, a very strong kid. He has a military background and he is trained in martial arts, so I do have questions,” Barrette said.

The authorities are currently investigating the case while toxicology tests are being performed. The cause of death is yet to be determined while authorities await autopsy results.
