A lifeless fetus was found by a passer-by in a plastic bag in a pile of trash on a Manila street on Thursday morning.

Domingo Dizon was walking along Claro M. Recto Avenue in Manila when he saw the bag in a pile of trash. Dizon picked up the bag and saw that it contained a dead fetus, GMA News reported.

“I saw a plastic bag next to a dumpster and saw that there was a fetus inside. I picked it up and asked for directions to the nearest police station,” Dizon said.

Dizon then brought the fetus to the nearest police station and reported the incident at the Manila Police District Station 11. According to the police, the fetus could have been in the fifth or six month of pregnancy.

The police said no one noticed who left the baby in the area. The fetus was brought to a funeral parlor after the police conducted their initial investigation.
