A Filipino migrant worker has suffered serious injuries after allegedly being pushed off the fifth-floor balcony of a building in Qatar.

In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs said the 34-year-old Filipina, who works as a receptionist in Qatar, fell five stories from the balcony of her apartment building early on Friday morning.

The Filipina, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to a local hospital and was visited by staff from the Philippine Embassy in Doha.

According to Allan Timbayan, Philippine Ambassador to Doha, the Filipina arrived in Doha in July and was staying in the apartment with two other Filipinas.

The Embassy is currently contacting the injured woman’s next of kin and police are investigating her twp Filipina flatmates, who are suspected of being involved in the incident.
