A Filipino woman helped an Indonesian deliver her baby after their flight to Indonesia had to make an emergency landing at Muscat International Airport in Oman.

On Saturday morning, the Indonesian woman, 20-year-old Fitri Gusnawati, who works as a domestic worker in Morocco, was on her way home to Lombok, Indonesia when her water broke, forcing her flight to make an emergency landing in Muscat International Airport in Oman, Khaleej Times reported.

After the plane landed in Muscat airport, two women, a Filipino and a Malaysian, helped Gusnawati deliver her son safely on the floor of the plane galley. Gusnawati and her newborn son were then transferred to the Royal Hospital for treatment.

Gusnawati said she left Indonesia for Morocco in June but did not know that she was pregnant. A maternity unit nurse at the Royal Hospital said that Gusnawati was between 32 to 35 weeks pregnant.

The Indonesian woman became the first woman to give birth at Muscat International Airport.
