A Filipino domestic worker in Dubai who sexually assaulted her Emirati employer’s son has had her jail term doubled to six months. The Emirati employer said her son was in pain after the 33-year-old domestic worker put on his diaper before the boy went to bed one night in March, The National reported.
The employer checked the area and saw that it was red. She applied some cream, thinking he had a rash. However, the employer overheard her mother and her son talking and discovered that the domestic worker had been touching him inappropriately and had caused him pain.
The boy was taken to a hospital for a check-up and doctors confirmed he had been sexually abused. The boy’s father then reported the matter to police, who were given a medical report, and arrested the domestic worker.
In June, she was charged with sexual assault, which she denied, but was convicted and sentenced to three months in jail and ordered to be deported after her sentence.
The prosecution then filed for an appeal seeking a harsher sentence. Following the appeal, the domestic worker’s sentence was doubled to six months and will be deported after serving her time.
