A 56-year-old woman was in a critical condition after being struck on the head by a piece of concrete which fell from a public housing estate in Kowloon’s Kwun Tong on Thursday.

At 3pm, the woman went to a wet market with her Indonesian domestic worker and was hit by a piece of concrete 10 meters from a building, the Oriental Daily reported.

The large piece of concrete knocked her out and she was left bleeding on the ground. The concrete broke into pieces when it hit the ground.

The domestic worker was not hurt but was scared and shaken by the incident. She held her employer and cried or help.

Security guards called police and paramedics arrived and sent the injured woman to hospital for treatment. She is in critical condition, the Sing Tao Daily reported.

After an investigation, police found the concrete fell from an exterior wall on the 10th floor of the building.

The falling concrete measuring 50cm x 15 cm and broke into three pieces when it hit a podium before one of the pieces hit the woman.
