Videos showing damage to property in Hong Kong caused by Super Typhoon Mangkhut, a maximum Signal No. 10 storm, have gone viral on social media.

At 10.45am on Sunday, dozens of windows in office buildings at Harbourfront in Hung Hom in Kowloon were broken by strong wind, scattering papers through the air, according to pictures and videos on a Facebook page.

Windows were also blown out in Harbour Grand Kowloon, Apple Daily reported. Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin stayed in the hotel several times on visits to Hong Kong during his time in office.

Also on Sunday, the metal ceiling of a garbage collection center in Sau Mau Ping in East Kowloon sheered off and was blown away due to strong wind, as seen on a video on another Facebook page.

At 8am, strong wind broke windows at two residential apartments in Lohas Park in Tsung Kwan O in the New Territories, according to pictures and videos uploaded by citizens.

A building under construction in Tai Kok Tsui in Mong Kok in Kowloon was damaged.

A part of an old residential building in Tai Kok Tsui also fell down, Apple Daily reported.
