A Filipino migrant worker was stabbed to death by her husband after returning home to the Philippines on Sunday afternoon. Angela Arevalo, 26, who had worked in Dubai for two years, went home to Isabela in Negros Occidental to take custody of her two children from her husband Arnaiz, 26, Panay News reported.

According to police, Arevalo had just arrived from Kuwait and had a heated argument with her husband. Arevalo allegedly had an affair with a man, which led to the husband slapping her.

Arnaiz then took a knife and stabbed Arevalo multiple times. Arevalo died due to multiple stab wounds on the body. Arnaiz then hid in a sugar plantation until his relatives advised him to surrender to police.

On Tuesday, Arnaiz turned himself in at the municipal police station of Isabela, Negros Occidental. He was detained and will be charged.
