A 48-year-old foreign man jumped to his death from a building in Mid-Levels on Hong Kong Island on Wednesday.

At 4pm, a domestic worker reported to the police that her employer had fallen from a building on Bowen Road in Central District, Ming Pao Daily reported.

When paramedics arrived they found a man lying in an alley off Macdonnell Road and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Media reports did not disclose the nationality of the deceased.

Police, who believe the man fell from the building’s rooftop, did not find a suicide note.

After an initial investigation, they ruled out the possibility of foul play , though the cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.

According to news website HK01.com, the deceased was named Matthew and was said to be a lawyer who held a local identity card.
